Awana 스리랑카에서 인사드립니다! 모두들 잘 지내고 계시길 바라고 여러분께 오랫동안 소식을 전하지 못했습니다. 현재 스리랑카는 상상할 수 없는 위기에 직면해 있습니다. 1948년 영국으로부터 독립한 후 우리 민족이 나라를 통치하기 시작했습니다. 지난 74년 동안 우리의 지도자들과 정치인들은 윤리, 종교, 민중분열 등 여러 가지 불법을 동원해 정권을 유지했습니다. 지난 74년 동안 수천 명의 무고한 시민들이 고통받고 희생되었습니다. 우리 나라의 역사는 피투성이고 오늘날 모두 이러한. 악한 죄 때문에 고통받고 있습니다.

Greetings from Suresh! Hope everyone is doing well and I have not written you for a long time. Sri Lanka is facing a crisis that can’t be imagine. After the Independence from British in 1948 and our own people began to govern the country. For the past 74 years our leaders and politicians who have used Ethic, Religious, Division among the people groups and many other evil things to sustain their leadership powers. We had shed innocent blood of thousands and thousands of people’s life for the past 74 years. We are a nation will blood strained nation and today we all are suffering for these sins.

많은 지도자들이 이기적이고 개인적인 이유로 국가와 국민을 박해하여 이익을 얻고 있습니다. 여러 해 동안 부패는 국민들의 머리 위로 올랐고 마침내 스리랑카 정부는 2022년 4월 12일에 파산을 발표했습니다. 현 정부는 많은 잘못된 결정과 정책을 내렸고, 이것이 이러한 상황을 초래했습니다. 저는 현 정부만을 탓하는 것이 아니라, 과거 모든 정부가 현 상황에 대해 모든 책임을 져야 한다고 생각합니다.

Many of our leaders due to selfish and personal reasons have persecuted the country and people to gain profit for them. For many years of corruption has gone above our heads and finally Government of Sri Lanka announced the bankruptcy on 12th April 2022. The present Government had made many wrong decisions and policies, which led to this situation. I am not blaming only the present Governments, but all the past Governments must take the full responsibility to the present state.

부패는 국민들이 스리랑카에서 항상 빠짐없이 얘기하는 단어입니다. 낮은 수준에서 높은 수준까지 부패가 일어나고 있었습니다. 우리의 대출 정책은 최악이었고 개발 목적으로 많은 국가와 금융 기관으로부터 자금을 빌렸습니다. 그러나 이러한 자금은 제대로 관리되지 않았고 직위 있는 많은 사람들이 올바르게 사용하지 못했습니다. 이제는 스리랑카와 돕고자 하는 사람들을 도와주지 않으려고 하고 있고 스리랑카의 안정적인 정부 수립과 국가 발전의 적절한 계획을 요구했습니다. 현 정부는 국가들과 금융 기관들이 우리나라를 구제할 수 있도록 물러날 필요가 있습니다.

Corruption is the key word always we speak in Sri Lanka, from the lower level to the higher level the corruption was taking place. Our loan policy was very bad and we have borrowed money from many nations and many financial institutions for development purposes. But these funds are not properly managed and missed used by many who are holding responsible positions. Now no one is coming to help Sri Lanka and people who wants to help us, asking to have a stable Government and proper plan to develop the country. The present Government needs to step down, so that the nations and financial institution can come to bailout our nation.

오늘날 전 세계는 러시아와 우크라이나 전쟁을 주시하고 있으며 수백만 달러가 전쟁에 투입되었습니다. 이것은 우리와 같은 작은 섬과 식량과 의약품이 공급이 어려운 다른 많은 가난한 나라들에게 심각한 영향을 끼쳤습니다. 저는 이 상황에 대해 전쟁을 하고 있는 나라들을 탓하는 것이 아니며 우리 모든 스리랑카인들은 책임을 져야 한다고 생각합니다. 우리는 부패하고 악한 지도자들을 나라를 통치하도록 임명하고 이제 우리는 모든 책임을 져야 합니다.

Today the whole world is looking at Russian and Ukraine war and many million dollars send to the war. This has affected a small Island like us and many other poor countries without food and medicines. I am not blaming other nations for this situation and we all Sri Lankans must take the responsibility. We appoint the corrupt and bad leaders to govern the country and now we have to take the full responsibility.

스리랑카의 현재 상황은? What is the present situation in Sri Lanka? 

 연료 공급이 어려워 처음에는 줄을 2-3시간 정도 기다려야 했는데, 나중에는 5-8시간, 12시간, 24시간이 지나고 지금은 48시간이 지나 3-5일 이상 대기하고 있는 상황입니다. 지금까지, 줄에서 긴 시간을 기다리는 동안 11명 이상이 사망했습니다.

 No fuel, in the beginning we have to stay for queue around 2-3 hours, later it became 5 – 8 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, now 48 hours and now I was told more than 3 – 5 days people are in the queue. Up to now more than 11 people have died, while in the fuel queues.

 가스 공급이 어려워서 연료와 똑같이 국민들이 희망을 안고 기다리고 있습니다. 저는 3월에 가스를 주문했는데 이번 달 6월에 가스 판매원이 가게에 방문해서 돈을 내라는 연락을 받고 갔습니다. 대금을 내고 바로 받을 수 있을 줄 알았는데 대기번호는 주고 기다리라는 말만 들었습니다. 저의 대기번호는 91번이었고 7월에 받을 수도 있지만 그것도 정확하지 않답니다.

 No gas, but the people are in the queues hopping they will get it. I ordered gas in March 2022 and still waiting, In June I got a call from the gas agent to come and pay the cash and after paying the cash they gave me a token. My token number is 91 and still waiting. I may get in July or I don’t know when I will get it.

 매일 2시간 15분 동안 정전이 됩니다. 이런 상황이 계속 지속될 것이라고 해서 나중에 정말 어떻게 될지 예측이 가지 않습니다. (예전에는 5-8시간 동안 정전이 됐었지만 이제는 그나마 시간이 단축되었습니다)

 Electricity power cuts, now everyday 2 hours and 15 minutes they cut, but we don’t know what will happen in coming days (earlier they did the power cut from 5 – 8 hours, but now reduced.

 식량 부족과 식량 가격이 매우 높아졌습니다. 또한, 시민들은 수입이 없어서 식량을 구할 수가 없습니다. 지금은 많은 사람들이 한 끼만 먹고 살고 있고 최근에는 극심한 가난 때문에 싱글맘이 다섯 살짜리 아들을 호수에 던져버렸고 그녀도 뛰어내려 죽으려고 했다는 이야기를 들었습니다. 하지만 사람들은 엄마를 구할 수 있었지만, 5살 아이는 구하지 못해 끝내 죽었다고 합니다. 많은 부모들은 이 상황을 어떻게 해야 할지 모르고 있고 스리랑카 경찰은 최근에 만약 여러분이 자녀들을 먹여 살릴 수 없다면, 그들을 죽이지 말고 우리에게 데려오라고 발표했습니다.

 Food shortage and the prices of the food has gone very high. But no income and with the income people are unable buy food. I was told that now many people are eating only one meal and recently due to poverty single mother throw her 5-year-old baby boy into the lake and she also tried to jump and die. But people were able to save the mother, but the 5-year-old child died. Many parents don’t know what do and the Sri Lanka police recently announced that if you can’t feed your children, don’t kill them and bring to us we will take care of your children (I don’t know how practical this is going be).

 약품 부족으로 인해 많은 사람들은 죽어가고 있습니다. 굉장히 중요한 약품들이 부족해서 주변에 몇몇 사람들이 죽었다는 소식을 들었습니다. 이렇게 되면 상황은 계속해서 악화될 것이고 정부는 이 문제를 해결하기 위해 나서야합니다.

 Shortage of medicines and many people are going to die, due this this. We don’t have many important medicines and I was told that there are few deaths due to medicine shortage. In the coming weeks the situation may worsen and Government must take quick decision on this.

 연료 부족으로 인해 대중교통과 자가용 교통수단을 이용하는 것이 어려워졌습니다. 최근에 한 23살 청년이 퇴근 후에 버스를 이용했답니다. 버스이용 요금은 Rs. 150.00 (USD 0.43). 그 날 가지고 있는 현금이 모자라서 기차를 타려고 해서 역으로 갔지만 사람들이 상상할 수 없을 만큼 너무 많아서 많은 인파에 밀려 들어오는 기차에 치어서 죽었다는 보도가 있었습니다. 오늘부터 공무원들과 학교들은 연료 부족으로 인해 집에서 일하고 공부할 수 있는 2주의 시간이 주어집니다.

 Public and Private transportation has affected due to fuel shortage. Recently 23 years old boy used take a bus to go home after work and the bus fare is Rs.150.00 (USD 0.43). He didn’t had enough cash and decided to take a train which will cost him Rs.25.00 (USD 0.071). While he was in the railway station and number is passengers are very high and fell into the train and died. From today on wards Government officers and Schools are given two weeks to work and study from home due to the fuel shortage.

기급한 기도제목: Our Immediate Prayer Requests

l  정부가 그들의 이기적인 욕심을 채우지 않고 상황에 따라 올바른 결정을 내리기 위해. 이 나라의 젊은이들과 국민들은 정부, 대통령, 국무총리, 그리고 모든 각료들에게 사퇴를 요구하고 있습니다. 이렇게 된다면 6개월 동안 임시 정부를 임명하고 6개월 후에 선거가 실시될 것이고 사람들은 국가를 통치할 적절한 사람들을 선출할 것입니다.

l  For the Government to take the right decision based on the situation and not to look at their selfish motives. Youths and People of this country are asking the Government, the President, the Prime Minster and all the cabinet members to resign. Appoint a care take Government for 6 months and after 6 months the election will take place and the people will elect the right people to govern the country.

l  다른 나라들 금융기관들과 해외에서 일하고 있는 우리 국민들이 함께 스리랑카를 다시 세워가기 위해. 수많은 국민들이 돕고 싶은 열정은 있지만 현 정부가 정권을 포기해야합니다.

l  For other nations, world financial institutions and people of Sri Lankans who are living in overseas will come to help to bailout the nation. Many Sri Lankans wants to help, but the present Government must step down.

l  많은 문제들로 인해서 스리랑카의 교육부는 현재 무너지기 직전입니다. 스리랑카에서의 온라인 수업은 실패했고 이것은 스리랑카 학생들의 80%에 영향을 주었습니다. 스리랑카 사람들에게 교육은 유일한 희망이지만 현재 매우 좋지 않은 상황에 있습니다.

l  For the education sector almost in collapse, which is facing many problems. Online study in Sri Lanka has failed and this has affected 80% of the students in Sri Lanka. For Sri Lankans education is the only hope and now that is in very bad shape.

l  젊은이들과 전문적으로 자격을 갖춘 사람들이 공부와 일을 하기 위해 나라를 떠나고 있습니다. 지난 몇 달 동안 해외 진출이 300% 이상 증가했답니다. 많은 의사들과 전문가들이 서서히 이 나라를 떠나고 있습니다.

l  For the youngster and people who are professionally qualified are leaving the country to oversees for study and work. We were told that the past few months, going overseas has gone up by 300% and more. Many doctors and professional are slowly leaving the Country.

l  약품이 스리랑카에 더 빨리 도착하기 위해. 그렇지 않다면, 스리랑카 사람들에게 더 큰 재앙을 가져올 것입니다. 우리는 외부에서 약품을 조금 받긴 했지만 턱없이 부족하고 현재 수요를 충족시키기에는 충분하지 않습니다.

 l  For the medicines to reach Sri Lanka sooner and if not, it will bring greater disaster for Sri Lanka people. We have received few aids, but it is not sufficient to meet the present needs of the country.

l  교회와 기독교 단체들이 지금 이 위기에 처한 사회에 영향을 미칠 수 있도록 위해. 이 상황을 두고 기도하기 위해 교회와 단체들이 기도 모임을 시작했습니다. 저희 교회와 몇몇 다른 교회들이 가난한 사람들을 위한 식품키트로 돕기 시작했습니다.

l  For the Churches and the Christian Organization to impact the society now in this crisis, we know churches and organizations have started prayer groups to pray. I know my church and few other churches have started to help food parcels for the poor people.

l  스리랑카 사람들은 매일 이성을 잃고 있습니다. 이것은 정부에 대한 폭력으로 이어질 수 있습니다. 5월 9일 정부를 지지하는 사람들은 무장하지 않은 매우 평화롭고 무고한 시위자들을 공격했습니다. 이것은 75개의 정부 장관들의 집과 회사들에 대한 폭력으로 이어졌습니다. 이런 종류의 폭력은 스리랑카 역사상 한 번도 일어난 적이 없으며 180개 이상의 주택/회사들이 불타버린 것으로 추정되었습니다. 우리는 또 다른 폭력을 원하지 않습니다. 사람들은 지난 두 달 동안 비폭력을 주장하고 있습니다.

l  For the people of Sri Lanka and every day they are losing their temper. This may lead to violence against the Government institutions. May 9th the people who supported the Government attacked the innocent protesters without arms and very peaceful way. This led to violence over 75 Government ministers’ houses and companies were burned to ashes. This kind of violence never happen in the history of Sri Lanka and it was Estimated over 180 houses/companies were burned down. We don’t want to have another violence like this, people are protecting non-violence for the past two months.

스리랑카를 사랑하는 모든 분들이 우리를 위해 기도해주시길 바랍니다. 우리는 또한 이 시기에 우리나라를 돕고 영향을 미칠 방법에 대해 기도하고 있습니다. 우리는 절망적이고 무력한 상황에 처해 있고 비록 저는 전쟁을 겪어본 
경험이 있었지만 이렇게까지 고통받은 적이 없습니다. 저는 매일 많은 부고와 부정적인 뉴스를 듣고 있고 거리를 다닐 때마다 많은 사람들이 고통스러워하는 모습을 봅니다. 아시다시피 USD는 평소에 180.00-Rs.200.00 정도였느데 현재는 Rs.360(1USD) 이상입니다. 미국 달러가 오를 때마다 모든 가격이 오를 것입니다. 최근에 결혼한 부부가 두 살짜리 아이를 데리고 와서 저에게 도움을 요청했어요. 이틀동안 먹은게 없어서 돈은 필요 없고 먹을 것 좀 달라고 애원했습니다. 남편은 노동자이고 한 달 이상 일이 없어서 어려워하고 있었습니다. 저는 일단 그들에게 먹을 것을 조금 주고 집에 돌려보내고 조금 있다가 보자고 했습니다. 그들은 빈민가에 살기 때문에 저는 몇 가지 식품과 물품을 구입하고 친구와 함께 그들의 집을 방문했습니다. 100명 이상의 가난한 가족들이 매우 열악한 환경에서 살고 있었습니다. 제 집과 사무실에서 1km 정도 떨어져 있습니다. 저는 그들의 행복한 얼굴을 볼 수 있었고 그들은 저에게 감사했습니다.

I want everyone who loves Sri Lanka to pray for us. We are also praying how to help and impact our nation at this time. We are in a hopeless and helpless situation and even though I have gone through the war time we never suffered like this. Every day I hear many stories and when I go on my walk and I see many people are suffering. As you know the USD was around Rs.180.00-Rs.200.00 and now it is above Rs.360 (one USD). Whenever the USD goes up all prices will go up and up. Recently a married person with two-year-old child came to me and ask for help. He said I don’t need cash, but give some food items and didn’t eat for two days. He is a laborer and now no work for more than one month. I said you go now and I will see later. I bought few things visited his home with my friend, because he lives in a slum area. Over 100 poor families were living in very bad condition. It’s around 1 KM distance from my home and office. I was able see the happy faces of them and they thanked me.
